Using rotary chimney sweep rods we start from the smoke chamber and work our way throughout the flue system and then back through. We then use a camera and inspect the inside of the smoke chamber and flue system and provide a detailed summary of findings.
When we inspect a chimney whether it is a masonry ( brick, stone, etc) or sided chimney we start from top to bottom. We first inspect the chimney cap, concrete or chase lid and make sure it is in good condition and keep the elements out. We then proceed our inspection around the middle to lower end of the chimney then onto the flashing. Chimney flashing is your only defense against weather at the base of your chimney. I, Casey, have been a certified technician in this field for almost a decade and will get your chimney where it needs to be.
We are currently only completing minor repairs on masonry chimneys. This includes brick replacements, tuck-pointing, chase lid installation, and chimney flashing. We also do interior chimney repairs, these will help maintain or repair the inside components of your chimney. We are certified by Saver Systems to complete PCRS, Heatshield, and parges. A PCR is a chemically driven solution to remove built up creosote in the smoke chamber and flue systems. Heatshield repairs the inside of the flue system, it increases the overall temperature that your chimney can handle while also filling in any cracks in the flue tile system making it like new. A parge is used to cover up the corbelling in the smoke chamber allowing for the smoke to properly move up the flues causing a better ventilation system.
For sided chimneys we are confident in completing small repairs like trim and siding replacements up to full sided chimney rebuilds. We can get you taken care of whatever route is needed. Commonly we find that chase lids are rusted on sided chimneys, this is the only defense from the elements at the top of your chimney. We fabricate and install high quality 22ga Stainless steel chase lids with stainless steel components as well.
